Egypt’s 2020 agricultural exports to date exceed 3.6 million tons

Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation on Friday announced that the volume of Egyptian agricultural exports from January 1 to July 8 increased to more than 3.6 million tons.

Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation al-Sayed al-Quseir said that Egyptian measures contributed to expanding exports and opening new markets in accordance with international export controls standards, which caused exports to increase to 3,621,259 tons.

The most important agricultural exports for this period includes: citrus, potatoes, onions, grapes, pomegranates, garlic, mangoes, strawberries, beans, guavas, cucumbers, peppers, and eggplants.

The total agricultural exports of citrus fruits amounted to more than 1.38 million tons. Potato exports reached 667,546 tons, and 273,312 tons of onions were also exported.

Quseir added that grapes ranked fourth in agricultural exports, with a total of 110,005 tons. Garlic ranked fifth, with a total of 30,317 tons, while strawberries ranked sixth, with a total of 20,705 tons.

Beans, meanwhile, ranked seventh, guava eighth, pomegranate ninth, and cucumber tenth.
